“The End,” best words ever (So proud of myself)
You GUYS! I did it! Yesterday — June 10, 2026 — I FI-NA-LLY finished my novel!!! (Yes, three exclamation marks. It’s that amazing.) Edge’s (and Bailee’s) story began more than 13 years ago. I’m sure my family grew tired of hearing me say every few months or years, “I really am going to finish my novel.” But the urgency bug bit me HARD in December 2025, no idea now why (can’t recall now), but I told myself I had six months to get. it. DONE. Six months later is … NOW! Ta-da!
Aaand I’ve finished it just before I attend a writing conference this weekend in Springfield, Mo. What if I meet a cover artist/designer at the conference? Or an agent? And magic happens? Or what if I simply get energized and learn new things and meet new writerly people? (Also, I’ve never been to Springfield before, which is crazy given that I did most of my growing up here in Missouri and attended two Missouri universities. I know it’s a great, and big, town. Can’t wait to be in it!)
So, please WISH ME LUCK and send me all the positive vibes you can spare as I move forward on this new writing journey. I hope to get my shiny new book published SOONEST! (I have zero patience; just ask my fam.) And of course in the meantime I’ll keep writing …
